A funeral

Not a good day – 29th June.  Saw my friend, Brenda’s, funeral and we dressed up in accordance with the instructions, in bright colours.  Typical of Brenda, we left the crematorium to the sound of Florence Foster Jenkins but I can’t help thinking that rainbow funerals are a version of positive psychology.  I think there’s much to be said for black and mourning.  Let’s celebrate life when we’re alive and allow ourselves time to grieve for the dead when they leave they earth. DSC_0007

  1. Speaking from experience, I totally agree. If we can’t mourn at funerals then we are denying the start of the healing process of coming to terms with that loss.
